The Rafale is a twin-engine fighter capable of operating both from an aircraft carrier and from a land base.
Totally versatile, the Rafale can carry out all the missions assigned to combat aircraft: air superiority and defense, ground support, deep strikes, reconnaissance and nuclear deterrence.
The Rafale entered service with the French Air Force in 2006, and is the first European fighter to use electronically-scanned radar.
France currently has 234 Rafales on order, and 273 export contracts have been signed with Dassault Aviation.
