In the aerospace, civil and military sectors, on-board energy, from both technological and managerial standpoints, represents a real challenge in terms of its generation, storage, conversion and on-board restitution. This on-board energy is used not only for propulsion, but also for operating equipment and controls. The Energy Commission deals with the whole issue of on-board energy in the aeronautics and astronautics sectors. It is at the crossroads of technologies and system applications on both civil and military aeronautical and astronautical platforms. As a forum for exchanges covering the entire technical field of energy and platforms including system issues, from research activities to operational applications, it is therefore "cross-functional" and brings together the experts concerned.
