The Grand Est region, which groups together the former Lorraine, Alsace and Champagne Ardennes regions, has the advantage of numerous higher education and research establishments, a modest but established aerospace industry that is developing and organized in a cluster, and an immediate border with three key contributors to Europe's space industry (Germany, France and Italy).rospatiale industry, as well as an immediate border with three key contributors to European space (Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg).

The 3AF Grand Est regional group is working to :

  • Link this fledgling industry with higher education, and thus create a stronger demand for an aerospace industry in the Grand Est region;
  • Ensure that France benefits from the know-how and knowledge that will emerge from Luxembourg's space boom.

Its practical activities cover :

  • Promotingthe influence of 3AF in the region covered by the Groupe Régional Lorraine, which includes the former Lorraine, Alsace and Champagne Ardennes regions;
  • Creating a cross-border dynamic, in particular by building links and organizing conferences with players in the Luxembourg, Belgian and German space sectors;
  • Relay 3AF's activities to companies and institutions, engineering schools, students, vocational training courses, high schools, and in general to all current and former aerospace sector employees;
  • Organize conferences and specialized courses related to aerospace,either directly or in partnership with higher education or vocational training establishments;
  • Ensure a link between the industries grouped within the Aèriades (France) and Luxembourg Space Clusters or the GLAE (Luxembourg) and the Grand-Est's higher education and research establishments, with a view to developing a stronger demand for the aerospace industry in Lorraine.

Targets of the 3AF Grand-Éast group:

  • Engineers, managers and technicians from aerospace manufacturers, equipment suppliers and subcontractors in the Grand Est region;
  • Companies in the same sector operating in the Grand Est or wishing to invest there;
  • Engineering schools, universities, training courses and their students interested in the aerospace sector and the various professions it offers, both technical and non-technical;
  • Aerospace enthusiasts.
