ONERA Meudon facilities tour

VISIT TO ONERA'S MEUDON WIND TUNNELS

WEDNESDAY JUNE 14, 2 to 4 p.m.

The Aerodynamics Technical Committee and the 3AF Ile-de-France group are offering its members a free tour of the ONERA wind tunnels at Meudon.

This visit, organized by Marie-Françoise Scibilia, member of the 3AF (French Aeronautical and Astronautical Association) aerodynamics technical commission in charge of visits, will be led by Vincent BRION, research engineer in ONERA's aerodynamics, aeroelasticity and acoustics department, in charge of wind tunnels at the Meudon center.

The tour will cover some of the center's active wind tunnels: transonic S3Ch, hypersonic gust, R1Ch and R2Ch and small wind tunnels in the fluid mechanics laboratory, as well as the large historic S1Ch wind tunnel. An illustration of this future visit can be seen in the photo above, which shows a model positioned in the R2Ch wind tunnel at Mach 7 to study the transition to turbulence.

It is important to go to the reception desk at the ONERA entrance at 1:45pm to check your identity from the list provided by 3AF.

VISIT RESERVED FOR PAYING 3AF MEMBERS ONLY, WITH COMPULSORY REGISTRATION ON THE 3AF WEBSITE. Registrants must present valid identification on the day of the visit. If this is not possible, cancellations must be made on the 3AF website under "Events".

Means of access :

• By public transport: RER C direction Saint-Quentin en Yvelines/Versailles Rive gauche. Stop at Meudon Val Fleury and walk along rue d'Arthelon to reach the center (15 minutes), or take Bus 289 or 169 to the Trivaux-Hangar Y stop.
• By car: 8 rue des Vertugadins- 92190 MEUDON, parking at ONERA entrance.
