Organised by "Ile-de-France"
Civil aviation safety
FRIDAY MARCH 21, 11:00 am to 12:30 pm by videophone.
The Groupement des Ingénieurs et Cadres Supérieurs de l'Aviation Civile (GIACRE) in partnership with the Ile-de-France Group of the Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France (3AF) and ENAC Alumni is organizing a conference during which "Rémi Jouty will share his experience as head of the BEA from 2014 to 2023".
This conference is the first in a series of events following the publication of the book "BEA plus de 75 ans au service de la sécurité aérienne (1946-2024)", published jointly by the BEA and the DGAC's civil aviation memory mission, with the support of the GIACRE.
You can consult an electronic version of this book by clicking here, or download it from the BEA website. You can also request a paper copy from the Head of the Mission Mémoire (paul.damm@aviation-civile.gouv.fr).
Appointed head of the BEA in 2014, Rémi Jouty was confronted in just over a year with two major disasters: the Air Algérie accident in the Malian desert malien où le BEA a apporté un support conséquent à l'enquête des autorités maliennes) et le suicide du copilote de la Germanwings dans les Alpes. These two investigations will be carried out under tight deadlines and in a context of strong societal pressure.
It is also committed to ensuring that the BEA's role and prerogatives are taken into account in national crisis management plans, and is working within ICAO working bodies to ensure that international standards evolve so that all safety investigations conclude with the publication of a report.
The conference is free of charge, open to all, and registration is required to receive login information and to be informed of any postponements or changes of schedule.
