Areas of activity:

Intellectual Property (IP) covers all the results of human creativity: inventions, know-how, names, shapes, emblems, computer programs, databases, literary and artistic works.

Its protection is guaranteed by law, which confers Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on creators, sometimes subject to the requirement of an Industrial Property title such as a Patent, Trademark or Design.

It is still all too often regarded in business as a legal matter, or worse, a source of trouble and cost.

Yet it is an essential element in the strategy of companies and research centers, their main source of value and development, contributing to their differentiation through innovation, protecting the competitive advantage they have won and enabling them to reap the rewards.

The Intellectual Property Committee deals with all these issues from a strategic point of view, with a view to ensuring that they are appropriated by as many people as possible.

The Intellectual Property Commission is a forum for experienced IP practitioners to share their knowledge, promote IP and make IP proposals on issues that could have an impact on aerospace.

It also welcomes young practitioners who wish to evolve in the field of Intellectual Property and develop their skills.

The Intellectual Property commission welcomes not only IP practitioners from aerospace companies, but also from research centers and related industrial sectors (automotive, nuclear, naval, telecoms, IT...) as well as self-employed Industrial Property Attorneys.

Activities :

  • On odd-numbered years, the P2i Colloquium (Intellectual Property and Innovation);
  • On even-numbered years, contribution to the IES (Economic and Strategic Intelligence) conference;
  • Quarterly meetings on a specific theme.

Current topics :

  • How does the IP of French companies and research centers contribute to France's sovereignty and independence?
  • How can IP be an instrument for regulating and facilitating cooperation?
  • What IP skills do companies and research centers need, and how can they be developed?
