The air and missile defense community, political decision-makers, war-fighters, procurement agencies and industry alike, therefore face an increasingly difficult challenge: to anticipate likely developments and adapt as quickly as possible to the current and evolving threat. Industry and stakeholders need to be inventive, proposing rapid system upgrades while looking to the longer term. The answer to the threat is not a single, high-performance end-effector, sensor or C2, but the integration or interoperability of systems. Nations are developing basic elements, alone, in bilateral or multilateral cooperation, within NATO and the EU, or as part of ad hoc initiatives. International cooperation is essential to meet technical, operational and budgetary challenges. The 3AF Integrated Air and Missile Defense Conference continues to support these efforts, providing a forum to share and promote a collective vision at technical, political and operational levels. The conference will host a mix of technical and non-technical sessions, featuring contributions and invited papers to discuss the challenges of integrated air and missile defense. Personalities will shed unique light on IAMD policies and priorities, many existing IAMD programs will provide updates, and specific plenary sessions will focus on some of the community's hottest topics.
Supported by the industry, the conference includes an exhibition where companies can showcase their systems and technologies. It's an excellent opportunity to meet customers, suppliers and decision-makers, exchange facts and opinions, initiate and develop business, and listen to presentations by global experts who come together face-to-face to tackle the challenges of IAMD.
